Congress 2010 Super Sale

Congress Super Sale a Huge Success! How encouraging it was to the horse industry to have the 2010 Congress Super Sale do so well this year! The high sale of the day? “Huntin’ for Chocolate,” sired by “Zips Chocolate Chip” brought $300,000 during Saturday’s auction. “It was a very good day!” said Tim Jennings of Professional Auction Services, Inc., “with gross sales up 36%.” “The market today is very selective, but you’re in good shape if you’ve got good individuals,” Tim remarked. Thoroughbreds and yearling sales have been up 5-15% since July, with average sales up 40% this year. Even the ringmen noted that for the first time in a long time many buyers in the audience were looking for something they wanted. Supply is dropping and will continue to do so into 2011. “People of foresight see the need to buy quality brood mares and yearlings now. We’ve seen a real turn in buyer attitudes, enthusiasm and interest.” Tim concluded.
