June 9th -11th the Western States Horse Expo will open its doors, inviting horse lovers from all disciplines to an equine extravaganza.  2017 will mark the 19th year for this World famous horse expo at Cal Expo in Sacramento, California.

A destination experience that must not be missed, the Horse Expo will offer educational experiences like no other. The top listed clinic is a three day, all day clinic with World renowned classical trainer and coach Charles deKunffy. deKunffy teaches with equal dedication and thoroughness whether teaching a beginner rider or coaching an Olympic Gold Medalist. His classical training techniques cross many disciplines and have a solid foundation in Dressage, Cross Country and Jumping. The line up of educators for the 2017 Horse Expo is equally impressive. With clinics for every level and style of rider from basic horsemanship, to colt starting to Reining, there is something for everyone at this expo.  All of these below clinics are included with the cost of admission, which provides great value at just $18/day or $45/three day pass.

With an additional focus on education the Western States Horse Expo University will also host a number of topics including health, nutrition, fitness and behavior. In addition there will be a trail symposium with experts on everything from long distance riders to mules to Dutch oven uses.

Looking for a new trailer? The “Rigs and Digs” section of Horse Expo will offer you the opportunity to check out trailers from many manufacturers and compare them side by side.  In 2016 over 20 manufacturers were showcased with acres of trailers ranging from basic stock trailers to the fanciest of living quarters.

Other events during the expo include an art show, Cowboy Dressage show, , Poker Rodeo (New for 2017), Young Rider Park, Breed showcase, BLM Adoption event and Staurday Evening Savvy Spectacular with Pat Parelli.
