2011 Congress Super Sale Results are In!

The 2011 All American Congress Super Sale, held Saturday, was “very solid” according to Tim Jennings of Professional Auction Services, Inc. “It’s hard to compare this year’s sale to last year, when Huntin For Chocolate was sold for $300,000. That said, if you look at the numbers without that one stallion, our gross was up 10% this year over last, and we sold 87% of the horses consigned.”

Tim is very encouraged by what he sees as more “market stability” since the more erratic first half of the year. “We’re not back to the heyday yet, but this was our sixth auction since July 1st, and each one has been an improvement over last year,” said Tim. “According to AQHA, show mares being bred are down 60% and overall supply is down. The foal crop of 2011 should show significant improvement in next year’s sales, and we think the 2012 foal crop should be off the charts.”
