Chris Cox Wins Third Road to the Horse Title

Cowboy legend Chris Cox, Mineral Wells, Texas,  took top honors in the Road to the Horse, earning his third such title on February 27, 2011.

The 2011 Road to the Horse three-day colt-starting competition in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, also included Clinton Anderson, astride Fletches Career, and Pat Parelli, who purchased his colt, Hey Whiskey.

Chris Cox  won top Road to the Horse honors in 2007 and 2008 as well.  “It’s more than just winning, ” Cox told America’s Horse Daily.  “It’s for these excited people who want to see great horsemanship and want to see these great horses.”

For this year’s Road to the Horse competition, Chris Cox worked with a gray colt named Perfect Performance (Sixes Pick X Best Performance by Special Effort), and for their efforts, Cox takes home $10,000.
