Gumz Farms’ Weekly Stallion Profile – A Scenic Impulse

Rodrock Ranches present their colorful edition to their Legacy of Breeding Champions, A Scenic Impulse.    A stunning stallion A Scenic Impulse stands 15.2 hands and is a rich chestnut overo.  He is quickly becoming known as one of the great young sires of the paint pleasure horse industry.

A Scenic Impulse is stunningly beautiful.  His near flawless conformation lends to his exceptional movement and overall balance.  His eye appeal is undeniable. However, his disposition is his one of his best attributes as he is extremely gentle and kind.

A Scenic Impulse is a proven performer with an incredible record starting early out with a historic futurity win in the Reichert Celebration Champion of the $90,000 Equine Chronicle Color Classic in 2004.   His first two showings yielding winnings of nearly $40,000.

A Scenic Impulse combines an obvious successful show career with a strong popular pedigree. He is sired by Reserve World Champion, A Danson Impulse.  A Danson Impulse is sired by AQHA World Champion and NSBA Hall of Fame Inductee, A Sudden Impulse and out of APHA Reserve World Champion producer, Pocosmedicinedance.   A Scenic Impulse ‘s dam bring combines some of the most successful APHA and AQHA bloodlines in the  pleasure horse business.  His dam, Ima Scenic Pinebar, is an APHA World Champion producer and sired by APHA Leading Sire CC Cowboys Loot. As you can see being a champion wasn’t an option, it was his genetic destiny.

Now A Scenic Impulse is not only known as a great show horse, but also an exceptional sire.  Besides amazing talent and movement, his foals possess trainability, personality, and great minds.  Currently, he has 75% color production rate on both quarter and paint mares.

A Scenic Impulse’s produce record for a young sire is quickly propelling him to the top of the sire list.  History was made when Scenic Ocean Drive loped to the winner’s circle in the 2009 Reichert Celebration Equine Chronicle Color Classic.  A great filly from his first foal crop, this win was unprecedented with a sire and daughter winning the same prestigious title and award.  The winning continues with Scenic Ocean Drive, winning the 2009 APHA World Champion 2 year old western pleasure, the 2010 Reichert Celebration 3 year old open color class and Reserve Champion honors in the Non-Pro.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, history repeated itself with A Scenic Cheerleader winning the 2010 Reichert Celebration Equine Chronicle Color Classic and reserve champion in the 2 year old color non pro western pleasure.  This great filly also was the unanimous winner at the prestigious Iowa paint breeders futurity being named champion under all 4 judges in the 2 year old open western pleasure.  It’s important to note that these fillies are out of completely different bloodlines and are not related.

Semen is available internationally throughout Europe and Australia and domestically in the United States and Canada.   A Scenic Impulse is standing at Gumz Farms in Morganfield, Kentucky.  You may visit his website at www.rodrockranches.com.  For more information on breeding to A Scenic Impulse, visit Gumz Farms’ website at www.gumzfarms.com.
