Welcome New Sponsor – Gotta Get Tuff

Starting his show career at age 11, Gotta Get Tuff went Top Ten at last year’s Reichert Pleasure Horse Celebration.

With breeding like this – a full brother to A SUDDEN IMPULSE (Impulsions x Zips Illusion) – it’s no surprise this stallion was born with the ability and movement to excel as a pleasure horse. But it was a long haul to the show pen for a horse that contracted EPM shortly after beginning training his two year old year, and was not even expected to live, let alone recover to anything close to soundness.

True to his name, Gotta Get Tuff beat the odds. After being purchased by Scott and Lynn Foreman, Gotta Get Tuff found himself in the capable hands of renowned pleasure horse trainer Shirley Roth.

After a brief conditioning period, Gotta Get Tuff made his show debut with Shirley Roth at the ripe age of 11 in some of the deepest competition in the country, the Reichert Pleasure Horse Celebration. Scoring first in his cut, Gotta Get Tuff finished in the top ten of the Surpass 2010 Maiden 3 & Over Western Pleasure slot class.

“The two biggest drawbacks with his showing were the stallion’s age, and the short time of conditioning we had. Had Gotta Get Tuff not gotten EPM as a two year old, there’s no telling what his futurity career may have possibly held. As a two and three year old, he would have been in his prime, as far as fitness and strength. He is an exceptionally nice horse,” said Shirley.

For those shopping for the ultimate in pleasure horses breeding, Gotta Get Tuff’s pedigree gives breeders the unique opportunity to access the very same bloodlines as the legendary A SUDDEN IMPULSE, who no longer stands to public. Gotta Get Tuff stands in Florida the 2011 season.
