1997 Bay Stallion Hot Fudge Chip Passes Away

PleasureHorse.com sadly announces the death of an extraordinary stallion, Hot Fudge Chip, who passed away August 12. “Fudge”, sired by Blazing Hot and out of Competent Chip, sired by Zips Chocolate Chip, will be missed by many in our community.  Owner, Charlen McBride, wrote the following in an email announcing Fudge’s passing:

“It is with deep sadness in my heart that I tell you all of the death of Hot Fudge Chip.  I’ve loved him from the time that I delivered him and he wrapped his little tongue around my finger.  He had the heart and soul of a Champion and a capacity for love that only those who loved him can appreciate.  He never failed to give me 100% of anything I asked of him and fought to live to the very end.

I appreciate all of your support and prayers for him…..and that so many of you were there for me, too.  You’ll never know what that has meant to me over the past year!!  Sometimes the answer to our prayers isn’t what we hope for, but I know HE has a purpose behind everything.

Fudge was humanely euthanized surrounded by those he loved and who loved him on August 12, 2011.  His demise was caused by complications from his feet being nerved many years ago. He is now with the angels and has no more pain.

God bless you, Fudge.  I will always love you…..RIP…..”

Owned by Dick and Charlen McBride of Enchanted Oaks Quarter Horses in Burleson, Texas, “Fudge” was trained and shown by Cleve Wells and E. H. Pait, Jr.  Those who knew and worked with him described him as “one of the sweetest and kindest animals you’ll ever meet.  He never forgot to be a gentleman.”

Fudge’s accomplishments included –

  • Incentive Fund Superior Pleasure Stallion
  • 2003 World Show – 7th Place Sr Western Pleasure with Cleve Wells
  • 2003 Arizona Sun Country Circuit Champion
  • 2003 Nat’l Western Stock Show Reserve Champion
  • 2003 Scottsdale Classic Circuit Champion
  • Multiple Futurity Money Earner
  • 2000 Congress – 4th Place 3 yr old Derby with E. H. Pait, Jr.

The PleasureHorse.com team sends our condolences to the McBrides and all who knew this amazing stallion.
