INVITE THE ARTIST

Invite The Artist

Guaranteed Color with Quality and Class…

Invite The Artist, affectionately known as “Johnny,” was an amazing find for his owners Gina and Jake Wilson of Defuniak Springs, Florida. As first time stallion owners they were looking to fill a gap in the Paint industry by providing mare owners with a homozygous tobiano stallion with the conformation, movement, mind and the outstanding pedigree that Invite The Artist possesses. The 16 hand stallion is by Special Invitation, an APHA leading sire who is by the Hall of Fame AQHA stallion, Invitation Only. Johnny’s dam is Ima Rap Artist, a Superior Open and Amature Western Pleasure mare by multiple APHA Western Pleasure World Champion, Arapadude. Based on a pedigree like that, and after seeing how effortlessly Johnny could move plus the mind that he had, the Wilson’s knew he was something special! Since Invite The Artist is also Homozygous for Tobiano he is the perfect choice for owners with APHA, AQHA, SPB and TB mares who want to breed for APHA foals without the risk of a SPB foal, but who are also unwilling to compromise on the quality of movement and pedigree of their future foal. Invite The Artist not only had to have all of those qualities, but Gina felt it was very important that Johnny prove himself in the show ring as well. Despite the mare owners already wanting to breed to Johnny unshown, the Wilson’s held off breeding and had him shown lightly as a 2 and 3 year old by Alan Fisher of Fayetteville, NC. During his career Invite The Artist earned 28 APHA Western Pleasure points, multiple Circuit Championships, Futurity Championships, and multiple Top 5s and 10s at both the Reichert and the APHA World Show. At the 2011 APHA World Show Johnny was named the 3 year old Western Pleasure Slot Champion. It was only then that Jake and Gina felt that Johnny had proven himself as a show horse and was ready to head to DeGraff Stables KY to begin his new career as a sire.
2012 was an amazing first season for Invite The Artist. He shipped like a champion and Robin described his semen quality as “bionic.”  Most mares caught on the very first shipment, including some maidens and older mares. The quality of the mares bred to Invite The Artist was outstanding as well. The 20 plus outside mares that are in foal to Johnny include World Champions, Superior earners and producers, ROM earners and producers, and daughters of the greats such as Blazing Hot, Zips Chocolate Chip, The Invester, Radical Rodder, and more! Based on the caliber of mares in foal to Johnny this should be an amazing first foal crop. Everyone is excited to see these foals on the ground and even more so to see them hitting the show pen in the years to come. Gina Wilson does the website for Johnny herself so she can keep everyone updated and posted on the foals as they arrive and she looks forward to assisting the mare owners in promoting them as they grow.

Invite The Artist will remain at DeGraff Stables KY for the 2013 season. His stud fee will again be $1250 which includes the $250 nonrefundable booking fee as well as the first standard shipment of semen. Discounts are available for early booking, proven mares, multiple mares and as a “thank you” to return customers! Mare owners can breed with confidence because Johnny is negative for OLWS, HERDA, PSSM1, GBED, HYPP, EVA and CEM. Johnny’s foals are eligible for the APHA Breeders Trust, the NSBA and a few SSA Futurity programs. Check out his website for details!
