The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum invites everyone to learn more about the America Quarter Horse’s history through a special story telling event.
The American Quarter Horse Journal, March 14, 2012 – The American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum is hosting a free story telling event at 7 p.m. on March 22. “Tales of the American Quarter Horse” is an evening of exploring the history and legendary tales of the highlighted foundation horses from renowned equine researchers, Quarter Horse authors and AQHA Historian and Amarillo-native Jim Jennings.
“We are excited for this opportunity to share great stories with the public,” said Crystal Phares, Hall of Fame Curator. “The stories will educate attendees on pieces of American Quarter Horse History they may have never known. The foundation of our breed is built on a rich history, and we think it’s an important story to tell.”
The Hall of Fame opened the exhibit, Legends of the Breed: Bloodlines of the American Quarter Horse, on March 9. The exhibit can be viewed Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The exhibit displays the bloodlines of 11 of the foundation horses and shows their famous American Quarter Horses descendants. The highlight of the exhibit is “Tales of the American Quarter Horse”, a special story-telling event 7 p.m. on March 22. The public is invited to bring friends and hear the “Tales of the American Quarter Horse”. If they cannot attend the March 22nd event, the exhibit will remain open through July 21.
