Horse & Rider magazine, Equisearch.com, Hawaii Horse Expo, Hapuna Beach Prince Hotel, Bar-ALE Feed, HorseTech, Andis clippers, Mane-ly Long Hair, Ranch Sorting National Championship, Ariat and Professional’s Choice have teamed up with Charles to bring the Ultimate Super Horse Challenge to Western States Horse Expo in Sacramento, California, June 12-15, 2014.
The challenge will run June 12-14, encompassing 5 different events, and narrows down to the top five finalists who compete head-to-head in the Finale on Saturday evening. The winner will be awarded a trip for 2 to the Hawaii Horse Expo, championship buckle and other great prizes. The top five finalists will be awarded with cash or prizes.
An Ultimate Super Horse can appear in a parade one day, work cows the next, compete in an equitation class the following day — and more. The Super Horse can do all that with lightness, cadence, carriage, fluidity and responsiveness. The Ultimate Super Horse ChallengeTM is open to all breeds and disciplines. The competition is not a race, but rather a series of events designed to showcase the rider’s control, and the horse’s relaxed lightness and responsiveness throughout the course. The challenge is designed to show the versatility of the horse and test the rider to excel in their abilities and to demonstrate their relationship with their horse, horsemanship and equitation.
To highlight the weekend, the top 5 will perform a short musical freestyle on Sunday.
