BRYAN, Texas- The 2014 Youth World Cup kicked off last Thursday at the Brazos County Expo in Bryan, Texas, near Texas A&M University.  Youth members from 16 teams from around the world will compete in 10 classes ranging from cutting to western pleasure to hunt seat equitation.

On Friday, teams opened the competition with the Parade of Teams, stall decorations, and received their horse draws.  To cap off the Fourth of July holiday, all countries were invited to celebrate with dinner and fireworks at the Thomas G. Hildebrand, DVM ’56 Equine Complex.

Competition began on Monday with cutting, and will continue through Saturday.  In addition to the competition, team members will participate in various clinics, exhibitor’s parties, and will be held in conjunction with the 2014 Youth Excellence Seminar (Y.E.S.) July 7-9.
