Special Events Lined Up for AQHA World Show

2014 World Show Artwork.ashxThe 2014 AQHA World Championship Show is looking to be an exciting event that you won’t want to miss. Show entries are up from last year and more than $2.5 million in awards and prizes is up for grabs at this year’s event.

Not only can AQHA World Show attendees look forward to watching the top equestrians and American Quarter Horses compete in the arena, but AQHA is also hosting special events outside of the show ring that are a highlight of the World Show experience.

Take a break from the world championship action to enjoy the free trade show, which features more than 140 vendors selling home décor, jewelry, tack, western attire and more.

Open daily on the concourse, the new Kidz Corral is a place for kids of all ages to have some fun. Specializing in activities for the young and young at heart, the Kidz Corral includes a make it/take it craft area, coloring mural and kids play area. While the kids are having fun, parents will be able to keep up with the competition in the arena on the closed-circuit TV. On November 15 and 16, kids under 12 get free admission to the show and AQHA Professional Horsemen will be leading barn tours departing from the Kidz Corral throughout the day.

New to this year’s AQHA World Show is the Champion Sports Zone located on the concourse. Enjoy beverages and rest your feet while keeping up with the show and the latest in national sporting events. The Sports Zone is open Monday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. Sports fans will be entertained by big-screen TVs tuned to the best college football, NFL games and more. A full bar with daily drink specials will be offered and snacks will be available for purchase.

While watching the evening finals on November 8, 14 and 21 in the Jim Norick Arena, attendees will enjoy live music by Robin Brooks Sullivan, Jerry Putnam and Stacy Barton, members of the popular Oklahoma City band Prime Time.

We’re also excited to announce the return of organist Donnie Neff during the evening finals on the final three days of the World Show.
