Every year, the competition gets a little stiffer at the AQHA World Championship Show. And in five classes at the 2014 AQHA World Show, records for high scores were shattered.

  • Senior trail – Jason Gilliam and Hours Yours And Mine marked a 239.5 in prelims, passing Bruce Vickery and Kat Man Shine’s 239 that had been marked in the 2010 senior trail finals.
  • Junior trail – AQHA Professional Horseman Bruce Vickery and Signature Absolute’s 238.5 crushed Bruce’s previous record of a 235 set with Zipschocolateimpulse in the 2013 finals.
  • Amateur trail – Caroline Ammons and Ginnin marked a 238.5 in the amateur trail prelims to tie Caroline Rebecca Gunn and Design By Leaguer’s score set in the 2012 amateur trail finals.
  • Junior reining – Andrea Fappani and SG Frozen Enterprize scored a 229.5 in the event’s finals, besting Andrea’s own record of 228, which he had set in the 2012 finals aboard world champion Lil Joe Cash.
  • Amateur reining – Dee Dee Boeckman and Ms Dreamy’s 222 bested T. Sharnai Thompson and Dun Its Chico’s 221.5 laid down in the 2007 amateur reining finals.
