Where Are They Now?

Julie Lyon is a habitual offender. An AQHA World Show Championship Sale habitual offender, that is.

Back in 2008, Julie traveled all the way to Oklahoma City from her home in Meridian, Idaho, to show Mr Bobbi Pine in amateur western riding and trail. As one does in downtime, Julie and trainer Lorrie Lynne flipped through the AQHA World Show Sale catalog, and their interest was piqued by a 2-year-old stallion, Hes Inviting (Willy Be Invited-Jenny Pine by Vested Pine).

At the sale, Julie’s hand shot up for Hes Inviting, and the 2-year-old found his way onto a trailer headed north to Idaho.

An all-around performer, Hes Inviting has racked up quite a few awards through the years with Lorrie and Julie. But in 2012, the Idaho horsewomen loaded up “K.C.,” as they call the sorrel stallion, and headed back to Oklahoma City for amateur and open performance halter stallions.

The show was a successful one for the Hes Inviting family. With Lorrie at the shank, K.C. finished third in performance halter stallions, and with Julie, he claimed the amateur reserve world championship.

The stellar finishes added a little jingle to the women’s pockets and their heads turned in the direction of where it all started: the AQHA World Show Sale.
