The No. 1-ranked Baylor equestrian team resumes action for the 2014-15 season Thursday, playing host to No. 10 New Mexico State at the Willis Family Equestrian Center at 1 p.m.

Baylor last competed Nov. 21 at Dover, Del. where the Bears defeated Delaware State, 14-6. The Bears posted an 8-0 record in the fall semester with a 3-0 Big 12 record and a 7-0 record at home. The Bears’ fall season was highlighted by a win over then-No. 1 Georgia, Oct. 25 that propelled BU to a No.1 ranking, which the Bears have held since the Oct. 28 poll.

NMSU enters the competition at 3-3 overall, but the Aggies have won three of their last four meets. Baylor and NMSU last met Sept. 27, 2013 with the Bears taking a 12-4 decision in Waco.

The Bears will play host to NMSU Thursday before taking on Texas A&M in Waco, Feb. 7. However, the No. 1 Bears will then be tested after the two home meets as they head to the road for five consecutive meets away from Willis before the Big 12 Championships March 26-28 in Fort Worth.

Baylor and the NCEA will play host to the national championships April 16-18 at the Extraco Center in Waco.

Admission is free to the public for Thursday’s meet. Fans can follow the action on Twitter by following the official account @BaylorEQ or head coach Ellen White’s handle: @BUEQCoachWhite.
