Palm Partnership Training Presents Five Days of Western Dressage at Fox Grove Farm

This fall Lynn Palm and Cyril Pittion-Rossillon will host 5 days of fun, education and competition at their Fox Grove Farm in Ocala, FL featuring one of the fastest growing sports, western dressage. Open to all levels of riders on all breeds of horses, western dressage has something to offer the recreational rider, competitor, amateur or professional.

Beginning with the two day Western Dressage Clinic October 16-17, Palm and Pittion-Rossillon work with riders to improve rider’s position and use of aids and improve horse’s responsiveness and self-carriage. In preparation to ride the test, whether as a competitor or to meet a personal challenge, Lynn and Cyril highlight the geometry and accuracy in the arena and build a strategy for execution of the test. Riders can lodge or camp at the farm with their horses right near them while enjoying the company of others who share their passion during meals and evening activities with Lynn and Cyril at the Main Lodge.

An option for clinic riders or for those in the community is to enter the competition at Fox Grove Farm on Sunday, October 18. This event is the fourth in a five event series where horse and rider teams are vying for year-end championships as well as scores recorded with the Western Dressage Association of Florida. Each of 5 levels of competition is offered and all breeds are welcome.

Palm Partnership Training have teamed with the Western Dressage Association of Florida, one of the most progressive state affiliates of WDAA, to offer Discover Western Dressage, a two day Symposium, October 19-20, comprised of theory sessions,  discussion and live demonstrations which offer a clear and precise progression of Western Dressage fundamentals. The Symposium answers many questions asked about western dressage. During demonstrations desirable and undesirable gaits, proper and improper balance, frame and tempo are observed along with properly ridden arena figures, lateral movements and the art of riding with accuracy. Questions will be addressed during demonstrations to solidify the proper image of the western dressage horse and rider. With assistance from USDF L Grad and USDF Bronze Medalist, Karen Abbattista, the Symposium is a dynamic two days for professionals who are eligible for a sanctioned listing with WDAFL and amateurs who wish to enhance their skills. A representative of WDAFL will be present to answer questions about association membership and its benefits.

For those who have completed the initial Discover Western Dressage Symposium, the second edition will give them the opportunity to focus on one of three topics, Training, Instruction & Coaching and Judging & Scribing. These topics will be offered in the Spring of 2016 for the professional or amateur competitor, recreational rider or equine business owner.
