Ranch Riding Kicks Off NSBA Classes at the 2015 Congress

Ranch Riding took center stage at the 2015 All American Quarter Horse Congress and showcased the combination of Reining, Trail, maneuverability and movement. Ranch Riding classes were also the first NSBA classes of the 2015 Congress. The Way To Go talked to the NSBA champions from the day’s classes.

For the first time, the All American Quarter Horse Congress divided Open Ranch Riding into Junior and Senior divisions, and exhibitors responded with a 28 percent increase in entries in the two divisions. There were 55 horses entered in the Senior division with 19 in the Junior division.

Leslie “Bear” Lange and The Immortal took the AQHA and NSBA wins in Senior Ranch Riding

. “This is my first time to show in the Ranch Riding here,” Lange said. We under-spun a little on one of the turns, and I had one transition that could have been better, but overall I was really happy with our maneuvers.”

The Immortal has NSBA Hall of Fame bloodlines, as he is by Invitation Only and out of Zippo By Moonlite. “I added Ranch Riding as something else for him to do,” Lange said of her stallion. “He also shows in Trail and Western Riding. I really like the class. I think it really allows you to showcase a really broke horse.”
