Beloved Congress Gate Man, John Ackerman, Leaves Hospital

We’re happy to hear that Congress “gate man,” John Ackerman, who is as much of a tradition as the Congress itself, has left the hospital and is heading home following complications from hernia surgery.  As an annual fixture at the Congress, he is known for congratulating winners leaving the arena and giving encouraging words to those who need them.  

His wife, Brenda, posted on Facebook, “See you at the Congress.”  Our thoughts are with him for a speedy recovery and can’t wait to see you back at the Congress!
