Congress Yearling Sale “Stakes A Claim” To The Best Prospects In The Country

New for 2016 the Congress Super Sale has added a Yearling Sales Stakes division and it has attracted some of the best Western Pleasure yearlings in the Nation. Outstanding pleasure prospects from the hottest sires have been consigned and we are proud to bring you a sample of the phenomenal prospects that will be led into the pen on Saturday Oct 22.
The yearling prospects entered into the “Yearling Sale Stake” session of the Congress Super Sale will be eligible to compete in the 2017 Congress Super Sale Stakes 2 year-old Western Pleasure classes. There will be two divisions will be offered, one for Open riders and one for Non Pro Riders. A horse many only show in one division.
We spoke with Mike Jennings of Professional Horse Services about the sale and the inaugural 2017 Stakes Class. “I estimate the purse to be $52,500 if 70 horses pay the Sustaining fee” with 105 horses consigned to the sale the numbers could be even higher. Mike explained, “The purse is built by the sustaining fee of $250 and another $500 from Ohio QHA for each horse that pays the sustaining fee. So there will be $750 put in the purse for each horse that pays the sustaining fee. There will be a small office charge fee to be paid at entry time next August.”
Sellers will pay an additional $100 to enter their yearlings in the Sale Stakes Session of the Congress Super Sale. Buyers will pay a $250 sustaining fee to keep the horse eligible. A horse which does not sell can continue to be eligible by the Seller paying the full commission and the sustaining fee of $250.
