2012 Tom Powers Yearling Stakes Sale Results

63 Yearlings

Sixty-three Top Quality yearlings went through the sale ring at the recent Tom Powers Yearling Stakes Sale for a gross average of $6,646.93.  The top selling horse was “One Cool Charlie ( AQHA, APHA, PHBA), consigned by Cathy Fitzner, and purchased by Knapp Quarter Horse Farms for $29,000.

  • The Top Five yearlings averaged $23,000
  • The Top Ten yearlings averaged $16,970
  • 54%  sold, with an average of $7,862.00 on the selling yearlings
  • 46% RNA, with an average of  $ 4,931.00, many of which were entered for the sole purpose of establishing eligibility for the sale stakes futurity program.

To establish eligibility, the yearlings had to be microchipped and actually go through the sale ring.  63 horses will be eligible to compete in next year’s sale stakes futurity.  At this writing, the purse monies for the 2013 Tom Powers Sale Stakes Futurity will be over $50,000!!!
