National Reining Breeders Classic exhibitors riding APHA-registered horses at the 2015 NRBC can win custom-made Gist Silversmiths trophy buckles. The Paint-specific buckles will be awarded during the prestigious event, which takes place April 13–19, 2015, at the Great Southwest Equestrian Center in Katy, Texas.

Established in 1998, the NRBC and features a “classic” aged event for 4- and 5-year-old horses, a “classic challenge” for horses age 6 and older, along with a complete slate of ancillary classes for horses and riders of all ages and abilities. Thanks to nomination monies from reining-bred stallions and foals, the NRBC is now the second-largest reining event offering lucrative purses that pay deep into the placings.

NRBC Secretary-Treasurer Cheryl Magoteaux-Cody says NRBC is pleased to welcome APHA as a new partner.

“The highest-advancing registered Paint Horse in all four divisions of both the Open and Non-Pro Classic will receive Gist buckles. Gist buckles will also go to the highest-scoring APHA-registered horse in the Classic Challenge Open and Non-Pro and the highest combined score in the Open, Non-Pro, Rookie and Youth NRHA classes,” Cheryl said. “That is a total of 14 buckles, and we are thrilled to have APHA provide this additional opportunity for our exhibitors.”

“Paints are consistently among the top performers in reining competitions, so these Paint-specific awards are a great opportunity to showcase their accomplishments while giving owners and exhibitors another reason to become part of the APHA family,” APHA Director of Business Development Kalyn Sanders said.
