Six horses and four men have been selected for induction into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2016.

“I commend the American Quarter Horse Association Hall of Fame Selection Committee for their hard work in making these choices,” said Craig Huffhines, executive vice president of the American Quarter Horse Association. “I had an opportunity to sit in on the committee for my first time and was extremely impressed with the professionalism and hard work from each committee member as they deliberated on these extremely deserving inductees.

“Induction into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame is the highest honor possible in our Association, and I look forward to welcoming these deserving individuals into the Hall of Fame.”

The horses to be inducted are the stallions Mr Gun Smoke, Parker’s Trouble and Zantanon; the geldings Van Decka and Vandy’s Flash, and the Thoroughbred mare Woven Web.

The men are AQHA Past President Johannes Orgeldinger of Germany; the late Paul Curtner of Jacksboro, Texas; Sunny Jim Orr of Pueblo, Colorado; and Ben Hudson of Morgan Mill, Texas.

Induction will be in March 2016 during the 2016 AQHA Convention at the South Point Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.
