APHA members are known for their love of chrome, but owners of registered Paint Horses at the National Reining Breeders Classic took home a lot of extra bling at this year’s show, which took place April 13–19 in Katy, Texas.

As part of APHA’s partnership with the reining world’s second-largest event, APHA awarded 13 Gist Silversmiths trophy buckles to the owners of the highest-placing registered Paints in Open, Non-Pro and Rookie events.

APHA Director of Business Development Kalyn Sanders says APHA was proud be a part of the NRBC this year.

“Paints are consistently among the top performers in reining competitions, and these Paint-specific awards are a great opportunity to showcase their accomplishments while giving owners and exhibitors another reason to become part of the APHA family,” she said.

In addition, the NRBC is one of nearly 30 approved NRHA shows that count toward 2015 APHA World Show qualification—that puts these horses one step closer to collecting their share of more than $40,000 in added money exclusively for reining events at this year’s World Show.
