Halter Winners Crowned on Day 1 of Ford Youth World

The 2015 Ford Youth World kicked off in Oklahoma and crowned three world champions in Performance Halter Mares, Performance Halter Geldings, and Aged Geldings. 

Onlythebestchocolate and Paulina Martz captured the golden trophy in Performance Halter Mares.  The team, hailing from Blacklick, Ohio, placed 1st under 4 of the 5 judges to find her way to the top spot in a field of 33.  On the geldings side, Sophia McKay and The Kids Story walked out of the Jim Norick arena World Champions in Performance Halter Geldings.  The world championship title for Aged Geldings went to Monica Hamm and RPL My Te Cheerful, who were the unanimous winners among all five judges.

Preliminaries for Western Riding and Hunter Hack were also held today, with finals taking place on Saturday, 8/1, and Sunday, 8/2, respectively.  For full results, click here.
