Exhibitors at the American Quarter Horse Association’s 2014 Adequan Select World Championship Show shined their boots and dusted off their hats for the first day of competition in Amarillo. Classes begin at 1 p.m. today at the Amarillo Tri-State Fairgrounds, with prelims in cutting followed by a welcome reception held in the Coor’s VIP Club.

The Adequan Select World offers a variety of events and activities for competitors, friends, family and spectators to take part in throughout the show, including free Ride the Rail/Ride the Pattern clinics taught by AQHA Professional Horsemen.

Attendees can also look forward to receptions and parties during the show. Everyone is invited to the barn party after the ranch sorting finals August 24, hosted by Ken and Laina Banks. Always a hit, the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame & Museum party will be held after the heeling prelims August 26. For information on other receptions and parties, view the tentative schedule.
