Zips Chocolate Chip to be Inducted in AQHA Hall of Fame

Zips Chocolate Chip will be inducted into the AQHA Hall Of FamePleasurehorse.com is excited to congratulate the late Zips Chocolate Chip on the honor of being inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame in 2017.

We are thrilled that Zips Chocolate Chip will be inducted into the AQHA Hall of Fame in 2017! The ceremony will be in San Antonio, Texas which is so appropriate for celebrating Chip!!!

Congratulations to these great horses: Casey’s Ladylove, Dashing Phoebe, Majestic Scotch, Strawfly Special along with these prestigious people: Marvin Barnes, Peter J. Cofrancesco III, Bobby D. Cox, Dick Monahan and Sandra Vaughn who, also, will be inducted into AQHA’s Hall of Fame……San Antonio will be a ¡Fiesta Grande!

Zips Chocolate Chip will be inducted into the AQHA Hall Of FameInduction into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame is the highest honor that can be bestowed by the American Quarter Horse Association. Those chosen for induction are recognized for their lifetime of accomplishments and service.

Zips Chocolate Chip was a leading sire of AQHA Incentive Fund earnings & Western Pleasure point earners for many years. Born on Cinco de Mayo, 5-5-1985, the bay stallion was by Zippo Pine Bar and out of the Custus Jaguar mare Fancy Blue Chip.

After a spectacular show career ending with a unanimous win at the 1989 AQHA World Show and totaling $59,443.25 in lifetime earnings, Zips Chocolate Chip went on to prove himself as a sire. He has more than 1570 AQHA foals who have earned over 44,380 points & more than 2 million dollars. He has sired winners of 20 AQHA World Championships and 12 AQHA Reserve World Championships.

Zips Chocolate ChipOther accolades include his induction into the 1999 NSBA Hall of Fame in two categories, as a Show Horse and as a Sire!…being honored as a limited edition Breyer model in 2003…being featured in a coffee table book published in NYC ‘1001 Reasons to Love Chocolate’…his trading cards were included in the pack with Misty of Chincoteague …and  he has his own cookie recipe!!!

Zips Chocolate Chip was a once-in-a-lifetime horse for his owners/breeders Ann & Phil Myers who enjoyed him and the fun he shared with all who knew him for 30 years. He passed away on 9-3-2015 and is buried on the Myers’ farm in Ashland, OH.
