1. Buddy Up With A Bike Proof Horse

Taking your horse out on the trail with a “Bike proof” horse can give your horse that extra confidence boost.

 

2. Delivering Feed By Bike

Try to teach your horse to associate bikes with nice things. How about keeping a bike at the barn, and delivering his feed via bicycle, pretty soon he should be happy to see a bike!

 

3. In The Arena

Having a stationary bike in the arena while schooling, will let your horse know that it’s not a scary monster that’s going to bite.

 

4. Stop and Talk to Cyclists

When on the trail, feel free to ask cyclists to stop. Explain to them that you want your horse to realise a bike is controlled by a human – and not some metal creature waiting to pounce.
